No one forgets their first visit to the Masai Mara and the adjoining Serengeti. The area hosts the greatest concentration of big game in the world and is the setting of the renowned wildebeest migration. Here, in thousands of square miles of unspoiled wilderness, guests can see the daily drama of the bush unfold. Easy to comprehend is the obvious interplay between the vast herds of antelope and the lion that follow their every move, but assisted by our multilingual drivers and guides, you won't miss the relationship between dung beetles and the lumbering herds of elephant who provide their livelihood; or the acacia tree and the giraffe, both of which have formed their bizarre shapes in an evolutionary battle for survival. The expertise of our guides will greatly enhance your vacation and open up a whole new world before your eyes. There is much more than immediately meets the eye on the plains of East Africa, and from the comfort of luxury lodges and attend camps, we give our guests an unparalleled insight into the forces that form our world.

The great lakes and the forests in the west are host to myriad species of birds, the endangered mountain gorilla, chimpanzees and forest antelope. Here too is the source of the Nile, for so long sought by the Victorian explorers who lived and died here. This is a completely different environment for the wide open plains - steaming jungle, cool alpine forest and the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Equally rewarding, these areas can be seen on foot for those needing some exercise and adventure.

In the North too, guests can walk with camels through landscapes of incredible beauty, raft down rivers past hippos and crocodiles or ride on the slopes of snow-capped Mount Kenya. At Lake Turkana, travelers can see the archaeological sites where man's earliest ancestors used to live in an environment little changed since that time. Pastoralists still
Still roam the scorching deserts in search of grazing and water in harmony with the myriad wildlife which thrives in this challenging country.

To the East, is Zanzibar, Mombasa and Lamu, guests can learn about the ancient history that brought Arabs down from the North on the wings of the monsoon and made these islands - in their heyday - into some of the most important trading centers in the world. Chinese junks, Portuguese caravels and Arab dhows once crowded these waters in search of ivory, slaves and spices. Vasco da Gama did not discover India alone - he was guided by a Swahili pilot. Five hundred years later, our Swahili staff will guide you too.
